After almost one year of total silence, rooted in
multiple appeals from neighbours to refrain from publishing any article, by sheer
coincidence I discovered the moral legacy left to mankind by a German citizen
named August Landmesser.
Look at the picture provided below. He appears in the
middle of the circle with arms crossed, defiantly refusing to perform the Nazi
salute also known as the Hitler salute (Heil Hitler). Instead of following the
crowd like a sheep and blindly obeying a mad dictator responsible for the
biggest Holocaust in human history, he uses a symbolic non-verbal statement to
convey the message that he will not sacrifice his freedom of conscience/thought
to please a madman, no matter how catastrophic the end results are for him, his Jewish
wife, and their children.
Landmesser was my inspiration to write again, and next
week on June 16 I will celebrate the first anniversary of the death threat that
targeted me because of my very unflattering views of “The Condo Industry” and
its relentless efforts to silence the freedom of thought/the freedom of
expression of a blogger. I will release an article basically covering the key
events that had shaped and coloured the last 12 months of silence.
